The Power of Logical Thinking Generates the Power of Wisdom

What is wisdom? Wisdom is the ability to identify, understand, and solve problems. Possessing rigorous logical thinking enables one to resolve issues completely and flawlessly—this is wisdom. What is logic? Logic encompasses the methods, sequence, perspective, depth, and layers of thinking. Through such thinking, one can pinpoint the starting point and focal area of a problem, delve step by step, grasp its root cause, penetrate its core, and solve it comprehensively and thoroughly without omission—this is the power of wisdom.

Applying logical thinking effectively can generate boundless wisdom to solve endless problems. If one struggles to master logical thinking, they should carefully study each short essay I write or my comments in group discussions, paying close attention to my thought processes, methods, and perspectives when addressing issues. Observe how I progressively unfold problems layer by layer, reveal their essence, and note the logical connections between sentences and paragraphs.

Clarifying the sequence of problem-solving, like untangling silk cocoons, will rapidly accelerate the growth of wisdom—this is what it means to be logical. For instance, consider our recent discussion on the topic of transcendence and deliverance. By examining the sequence of my thoughts and the entire problem-solving process, you can see that my line of reasoning is clear and methodical, ultimately leading to a rational conclusion. In truth, during the process of explaining the issue, the final conclusion may not yet be known. Instead, the problem is unfolded step by step in an orderly manner. If the process is executed without error, the conclusion will naturally be correct. Getting the initial starting point, focal area, and sequence right is crucial, as this allows direct access to the root of the problem and captures its fundamental nature. This is the power of logical thinking. Possessing this ability gives rise to wisdom. By contemplating problems in this way, any issue can be resolved in accordance with the Dharma.
